This is a fantastic 12 days full supported mountain biking tour across Jordan, from the North (Um Qais) to the South (Aqaba) via Petra and Wadi Rum. This cycling holiday follows a beautifully planned route through the finest landscapes and ‘must see’ historic sites in the country, cycling on good dirt tracks and quiet back roads. We then traverse one of the longest canyons in Jordan, arriving at the high mountain plateau of Dana nature reserve. Following a chain of impressive Crusader fortresses, we enjoy exhilarating biking as we descend through the Valley of Moses to Petra, where we have a welcome rest and exploration day at the ancient ‘rose-red city’. Moving on from Petra, we discover the majestic grandeur of the desert landscapes at Wadi Rum, the home of the indigenous Bedouin community. After a night under the stars with our Bedouin hosts, it’s a short ride Aqaba for a well-earned swim in the crisp water of the Red Sea.
This tour is on mostly on dirt tracks or quiet country tarmac roads, with nothing very technical. It’s suitable for a moderate rider. All our trips are accompanied by a mechanic and support vehicle, which allow for you to take a rest if you need it.

Day 1 – Arrival
Collection from the Airport and transfer to your hotel. We can offer additional activities for the day, such as Amman city tour or a visit to the Royal Automobile Museum. Overnight in Amman.
Day 2 – Umm Qais to Ajloun
Collection from the hotel and transfer to the northern tip of Jordan and savor the beauty of Umm Qais, the Greek and Roman city overlooking the Jordan valley and the Sea of Galilee.
Finishing the sightseeing and start the cycling from Um Qais to Ajloun. visit the castle, dominating the Ajloun skyline and built to ward off the Crusader armies at the key trade and pilgrimage intersection between Jerusalem, Cairo, Damascus and Mecca.
Overnight in Ajloun lodge.
Day 3 – Ajloun – Jerash – Wasfi Al-Tall forest – Amman
Early in the morning, start the cycling from Ajloun to the Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. Visit the sites and transfer to Wasfi Al-Tall forest to do off road cycling through the woods and then head back to Amman. Overnight in Amman.
Day 4 – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Baptism site – Dead Sea.
Early in the morning, start the cycling from Amman to the town of Madaba and discover the amazing Byzantine mosaics excavated from throughout the town. See the ‘Madaba Map’, the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Lands, then to Mount Nebo and wonder at the view where Moses looked across to the Promised Land and later died and was buried, then to the Baptism site, visit the site and on to the Dead sea.
Overnight on the shores of the Dead Sea at one of the hotels and spas.
Day 5 – Dead Sea – Feynan
Early in the morning, start the cycling from Dead sea and on to Feynan Eco-Lodge. Voted in the top 10 eco-lodges in the world. Experience the serenity of a night without electricity in the candle lit hotel. Overnight in Feynan Eco-lodge.
Day 6 – Shobak – Little Petra – Petra
Transfer from Feynan Eco-Lodge to Al-Shobak city to visit Alshobak castel and after you will start the cycling to Little Petra and to Petra.
The soul-stirring, rose-red city of Petra is chief among Jordan’s archaeological riches, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people who settled in south Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Overnight in Petra.
Day 7 – Petra
Marvel at the beauty of the ‘Lost City’, the Red Rose City of Petra, exploring its many caves and tombs. Walk through the canyon and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World. Overnight in Petra.
Day 8 – Teeba – Wadi Rum
Transfer from Petra to Teeba and start the cycling from Teeba to Wadi Rum. Enjoy watching the sunset and gaze at the stars in the night sky whilst enjoying the legendary hospitality of the Bedouin, before sleeping at the foot of the awesome mountains exploding out from the desert landscape. Overnight in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum.
Day 9 – Wadi Rum
Start the cycling in the desert of Wadi Rum, after finishing the cycling you will enjoy the wilderness adventure of a 4×4 jeep tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges. Overnight in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum.
Day 10 – Wadi Rum to Aqaba
Start the cycling from the desert of Wadi Rum all along to Aqaba city, Jordan’s window to the Red Sea; Aqaba brings a refreshing variation to the sands of Wadi Rum and Petra. Overnight in Aqaba.
Day 11 – Aqaba
Free day to spend relaxing as you choose, either exploring the markets of the downtown or visiting one of the beach resorts to swim, snorkel or scuba dive to admire the world-renowned multi-coloured coral reefs, fish and wildlife under the clear blue water. Drive back to Amman. Overnight in Amman.
Day 12 – Departure
Free day and transfer to airport. Depending upon the time of your flight, we can arrange optional tours such as Amman City Tour
All our tours are private tours, so we run then whenever you want. Just tell us the time and date you want to start.
We recommend you bring your own bike, since it’s the one you know best. However if you rather not bring your own, we have a range of high quality bikes to rent. For this tour which includes road and dirt tracks, we recommend treaded tyres on a mountain bike or hybrid. All our trips are accompanied by a mechanic and support vehicle.

Breakfast and dinner in hotels are buffet meals. Lunch is a pack lunch.
All tours are run in private, air-conditioned vehicles, with excellent drivers. Plus a support Vehicle during the cycling to support the cyclists for bike maintenance and in case of injuries and rest breaks.
Accommodation is based on 3-star hotels and 5-star Bedouin hospitality in Wadi Rum in traditional Bedouin tents or under the stars.
