This is an 8-day tour visiting and experiencing some of the unique sites of Jordan and engaging with the people and culture.
Petra – Discover the Rose Red City, lost for centuries to the outside world.
Dead Sea – Float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on earth.
Wadi Rum – Explore the majestic desert of Wadi Rum
People – Hear stories from Bedouins in the south to the people of north.
Amman – Explore the markets and downtown areas, sampling the local food and learn some Arabic.
Day 1 – Arrival
Collection from the airport and transfer direct to your hotel. Depending upon your flight arrival time, we can offer additional activities for the day. Overnight in Amman.
Day 2 – Amman
After breakfast, we start the day with a 2-hour Arabic lesson to get you familiar with some basic greetings and useful phrases for your trip. Even just a few words will help you interact with people on the trip. We then head to the downtown for a city tour of Amman. Visit the Amphitheater and the Jordan Folklore Museum and the Citadel.
We visit one of the local restaurants for falafel and humous for lunch. Then walk around the down town, try the best Knafeh (sweets) and explore the markets. Time permitting, we visit some traditional handcrafts project, galleries.
The evening will visit a coffee shop for backgammon and Argelah. Overnight in Amman.
Day 3 – Jerash, Ajloun & Ayoun
In the morning we drive in the north of Jordan to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. We visit the spectacular Forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and Artemis Temple. Then we drive to the west of Jerash to visit the castle of Ajlun is another highlight of northern Jordan. The Qalat er-Rabad, as the Ajlun Castle is locally knwon, was the base of the Arab forces of Saladin, when he defeated the Crusaders in the 12th century. The Ajloun mountains are famous for their lush vegetation and thick green forests and a good place for hikes. Lunch box will be provided by the local community.
In the afternoon, we visit one of the local projects (soap house) where local women make the traditional pure olive soap.
For dinner, a delicious, home-cooked traditional Arabic meal will be prepared by a local Jordanian family, and served right in their own house. Overnight in a homestay in Rasoun.
Day 4 – Madaba and Mount Nebo
Explore the town of Madaba and discover the amazing Byzantine mosaics excavated from throughout the town. See the ‘Madaba Map’, the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Lands. Drive to Mount Nebo and wonder at the view where Moses looked across to the Promised Land and later died and was buried.
After lunch, we’ll drive to the Mosaic School for a mosaic making session. Dinner and overnight in Madaba or upgrade to one of the Dead Sea hotels.
Day 5 – Dead Sea
Relax for the day at the Dead Sea, floating in the sea, or resting by the pools. Try the mud by the beach to invigorate the skin. Drive south to Petra and overnight in Petra. For dinner, take part in a Jordanian cooking class, learning how to make some traditional dishes.
Day 6 – Petra
Marvel at the beauty of the ‘Lost City’, the Red Rose City of Petra, exploring its many caves and tombs. Walk through the canyon and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World.
Either stay overnight in a hotel in Petra, or take the optional* night under the stars in Wadi Rum (Drive to Wadi Rum and marvel at the sunset and gaze at the stars in the night sky whilst enjoying the legendary hospitality of the Bedouin, before sleeping at the foot of the awesome mountains exploding out from the desert landscape). A Bedouin Zarb dinner and overnight in Wadi Rum.
Day 7 – Wadi Rum
Enjoy the wilderness adventure of a 4×4 jeep tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges. Then driveback to Amman. Overnight in Amman.
Day 8 – Depart
Free day and transfer to airport.
All our tours are private tours, so we run then whenever you want. Just tell us the time and date you want to start.
All meals are included starting from dinner on day 1 until breakfast on day 8.
All tours are run in private, air-conditioned vehicles, with excellent drivers.
Accommodation is based on 3-star hotels, home-stays and Bedouin hospitality in Wadi Rum in traditional Bedouin tents.
We have English Speaking, Government-Licensed guides & local guides available for all our tours. Alternatively for individuals, you can choose the driver-only option .

Option 1 – Overnight in Wadi Rum (extra $40 pp)
Spent the night in Wadi Rum, enjoying Bedouin hospitality, sleeping in a Bedouin tent, or out under the stars, enjoying traditional desert cooking and campfire songs.
Option 2 – Overnight at Dead Sea Hotel (extra $75 pp)
Spend the night relaxing at the 4-star Dead Sea Spa Hotel. Make use of the pools and beach access on your final day as well, as we will collect you directly from the Dead Sea to transfer you to the airport for your flight.
You can upgrade your hotel to a 4 or 5-star hotel for the 3 nights in Amman and 1 night in Petra. If you are taking the Wadi Rum option, the upgrade supplement will be 25% less.
