Wadi-Rum-Rock-Bridge

Wadi Rum Trip

We organise regular trips to one of the most spectacular desert sceneries on earth

Overnight Trip

We leave Amman on Friday at 8am, and arrive at Wadi Rum around noon. On the first day we’ll visit Kazali canyon, Little Bridge and the sand dunes. Then we’ll hike for about 1 hour to our campsite. On the second day we’ll start early in the morning (after having our breakfast), hiking up for about 1-2 hours up to Um Froth rock bridge, then visit to Lawrence’s house, have a light lunch and head back to Amman, arriving back around 6-7pm
-Please wear comfortable and supportive shoes, sun protection including sunscreen, sunglasses and hat, and appropriate hiking clothing and anything else you may need for an overnight trip.

Transportation from our meeting point in Amman to Wadi Rum is included.

Wadi Mukheires (lower trail)

Hiking in Wadi Mukheires(Lower Trail)

Moderate/Difficult – 6 km – 6 hours

Join us this Friday on our walk through (Wadi Mukheires), which is located in the middle of the Dead Sea hotel area. This Wadi includes some dramatic wild mountain scenery, and a surprising amount of vegetation and water. This wadi has a constant stream running through it, which provides much of the source of water for the tourist hotels at the Dead Sea.

There are several tricky rock steps which require the use of hands and feet, so your feet will be getting wet!

Wadi Hidan

Hiking and swimming in Wadi Hidan

Difficult – 5-6 hours

The season for Wadi Hidan is back! Join us on Saturday, for our special walk/swim through the amazing black canyon.

Located alongside king’s highway, which is near Madaba. This Wadi includes some dramatic wild mountain scenery, and a surprising amount of vegetation and water. A beautiful black basaltic canyon filled with narrow gorges, surprising amount of vegetation and fresh natural pools.

There are several tricky rock steps which require the use of hands and feet, so your feet will be getting wet!

Easy/Moderate – 3-4 hours

Join us on a short hike (1.5k each way) through Wadi Himara by the Dead Sea. This will be an easy to moderate hike for a change of pace..

The hike begins at Wadi Himara, where you will have the chance to see rainwater pools, and breathtaking waterfall – truly some of Jordan’s best kept natural secrets! At the end of the walk, we will enjoy lunch together and have a chance to take in the awesome scenery and the camaraderie of your fellow Weekly Walkers!

There are several tricky rock steps which require the use of hands and feet, so your feet will be getting wet!

Bergesh Cave to Rasoun & lunch with a local family

Hiking from Bergesh Cave to Rasoun & lunch with a local family

9km – 4 Hours – Moderate

We start from the Bergesh Cave in Bergesh Forest, and then we head east down the forested Wadi Zubia passing a cave spring and more ruins. We continue to the Qabla ruins where we can see remains of houses, caves and quarries. We head to the village of Rasoun on dirt tracks past olive groves and up steeply to the top of the ridge, where we can see caves in the cliff sides and nice views to the Ayoun villages.

Arriving to Rasoun, we will be welcomed by a local family and a delicious traditional lunch.

Ajloun Castle to Baoun & lunch with a local family

12km – 5 Hours – Moderate

From Ajloun Castle, we walk along the fertile wadi with its lush vegetation & gardens to the village of Baoun, the walkers will stumble upon Ras al Qasr, Byzantine ruins that according to legend still hide some well hidden treasures. Yet the town’s greatest claim to distinction lies not with archeology but with scholarship. Baoun is the ancestral hometown of a family which produced a series of Islamic scholars.

The Jordan trail: Khirbet souq to king talal dam

Length: 4-5 Hours
Difficulty: Moderate
The track heads through a secluded wooded valley onto the crest of the hill with dramatic views South over the hillside village of Burma to the King Talal Dam and beyond. Paths then lead steeply down to Burma (shops) and down again to the wall of the dam.

Length: 4-5 Hours
Difficulty: Moderate
We will hike from Afana to Rasoun across Jordan’s beautiful northern landscape. This will not be one to miss, being called “one of the best walks in the north of Jordan!”
 
The walk starts at Khirbet Afana with its huge Roman underground cisterns and numerous cave dwellings and tombs. We’ll continue gently downhill through the trees and tended fields with rock walls & gorgeous views overlooking the village of Rasoun.

Hiking  – Beekeeping & Zatar making experiences!

Join us as we hike and experience Beekeeping & Manaqeesh Zatar making, you will be engaged in making Zatar out of Oregano and learn about Oregano agriculture, the mix of Zatar and its ingredients. You will learn about Khabiesha and you bake your own Manaqeesh which is your meal with an Oregano tea, learn from the Beekeeper all about Bees and Honey, put on the Beekeeping
suit and have Hietalieh with Honey as a traditional sweet in Salt eaten by farmers, and have a hike in the rural areas!

Treat yourself to a weekend of yoga, acroyoga, touring the desert, healthy meals and camping under the stars at one of the most beautiful deserts worldwide, with its red sands and magical sunsets, Wadi Rum is a treasure trove of Inspiration.
On Friday Apr 27th, you will arrive and settle into your tents at the Bedouin campsite, and walk to the spot where Yoga instructor Ahlam Serhan will guide you through an evening session mix of yoga and acroyoga (partner yoga), followed by dinner and an evening around the fire with good company!
On Saturday Apr 28th, you will have a sunrise yoga session (no worries, we will wake you up!), followed by breakfast and a 2-hour jeep tour around the desert.
The yoga session will include variations for all levels, consisting of a mix of hatha and vinyasa yoga including playful stretching and strengthening exercises. The acroyoga will be done in groups of 2-3, and is guaranteed to cause infectious fun and laughter!”

The jordan trail: Little petra to petra ( 2 day trip )

 Friday 11th & Saturday 12th – May, 2018
Join us on a our 2 day hike along the Jordan Trail, this time we’re going to hike a spectacular section from Little Petra to Petra!
We start at the region Gbour Wahdat and hike to Baida, AKA Little Petra, visiting the site, then enjoy an overnight with the hospitality of the local bedouins in a beautify camp, In the morning we continue our hike towards the Petra gorges to arrive at the Monastery, high above the main site. We shall see some splendid views of the Rift Valley of Wadi Araba as we walk..
You’ll explore Petra’s tombs and temples, and then exit the city through the spectacular gorge(15km)!
**** Note: Price doesn’t include Petra entry fee (1JD for Jordanians and residency holders/ 50JD for tourists).

The jordan trail: Mathloutha to Hidan & lunch with a local family

11th May, 2018 – Friday

Distance: 10 Km
Length: 3-4 Hours
Difficulty: Moderate
We’ll start the hike following the southern rim of Wadi Mujib overlooking both the Hidan and Mujib Gorges. Just beyond, an unexpected but once again spectacular Bedouin shepherds’ path descends steeply through cliffs and down another ridge to the depths of the massive Mujib Gorge, entering its seemingly inaccessible lower reaches by a path built down a cliff. We might need to cross a water stream to reach our bus at the end of the hike, so expect to get your shoes wet, or you can take off your shoes.
At the end of the hike we will enjoy a local lunch before we head back to Amman.

Wadi Hasa Hiking & Camping (2 day trip)

 Friday 18th & Saturday 19th – May, 2018

 

Distance: 28 km
Length: 6-7 Hours each day
Difficulty: Moderate – Difficult (Long distance)
Wadi Hasa sports magnificent hanging gardens, narrow gorges and hot springs. Its upper reaches are carved into white limestone, creating a playground of giant boulders. A dramatic change of scenery is displayed along its lower course, where the wadi cuts a spectacular canyon in red sandstone.
The total distance is around 25 km. We will start at the Afra Hot Springs on the first day and end at Ghor Safi on the second. It’s a fantastic walk with relaxing views and multiple hot springs on the way to enjoy. The overnight will be spent next to the river in an area over 15Km from the nearest city lights, providing amazing views of the stars on a clear night.

Hiking from Wadi saleh to Pella & iftar with a local family

 18th May, 2018 – Friday

 

Distance: 9 km
Length: 3-4 Hours
Difficulty: Easy – Moderate
Starting just north of Kufr Abil, this is a lovely walk down a wadi, initially forested, then pastoral, then climbing to the summit of Khirbet Sartaba with its Greek ruins and great views before descending to Pella.

Join us as we learn how to make “Jameed” Which is used in the Jordanian traditional dish “Mansaf”, in a local family house of “Um Mohammed & Abu Mohammed” Place, under the supervision of Women who established “Project of Jameed” that teaches the art of Jameed. And Since we are in Karak then we will have to try the Karaki Mansaf (As the mansaf origins from Karak), But this time you are going to make your own Mansaf. Also, we will have a tour in Karak castle.

On Saturday 26th May, We’re going to hike across Jordan’s beautiful northern landscape. We will walk through Wadi Zubia passing through the ancient ruins of Qabla. Then we will be trasnferred to a local family house to have Iftar with them.

Honey Harvest experience with a short hike & Iftar 

1st June, 2018 – Friday

 

 Honey Harvest – Bees kingdom – Honey – Short hike up to 4 km

 

Honey & Bees admirers!! Experience with us and learn about the Beekeeping 🐝 and honey Harvest 🍯 from the Beekeeper and unravel the mystery of the Bee kingdom. Put on the Beekeeping suit and watch the bees at work!! You will also have a hike through the Oak tree forest and enjoy the rural view. After that, we will have have a thematic Iftar that were done by local farmers at their home garden…fresh veggies will be on the table with many local foods like Galayieh, labaneh, jam, olives, Gee, free range eggs, olive oil, Zatar, cow milk butter, tea with Sage or Oregano, local bread and fresh water from the Will.

Eid Cakes making (Ka3ik el Eid) experience with a short hike & iftar

Cookies & Cakes lovers!! Join us as we learn how to make “Eid cakes (Ka3ik)”. At the end of every Ramadan people start to make Eid cakes to celebrate Eid! We will be engaged in making the holiday cakes, cookies & bread with a local farmer plus having a cup of tea, you will also have a hike through the forest before we have Iftar that were done by local farmers at their home garden…fresh veggies will be on the table with many local foods like Galayieh, labaneh, jam, olives, Gee, free range eggs, olive oil, Zatar, cow milk butter, tea with Sage or Oregano, local bread and fresh water from the Will.
