Itinerary

Itinerary

Plan your tour!

Arrive at the King Hussein Airport close to Aqaba(AQJ), where we will meet you, assist with immigration and then transfer you to your hotel.
Aqaba is a small city in the very south of Jordan, nowadays mainly famous for some of the most beautiful diving and snorkeling grounds in the world. Due to her location at the northern tip of the Red Sea, the city has however been (and still is) of great economical and strategical importance for the region for hundreds of years.

Meals included: –

Overnight in Aqaba.

Today, you will spend most of your time on or in the refreshing waters of the Red Sea. Board the boat at around 9 o’clock in the morning. It will take you to several beautiful diving places, where you can dive, snorkel and swim as much as you like. You will also have plenty of time to sunbath and relax on the boat’s sun deck. Around lunchtime, passengers are treated on the boat with grilled lunch and salads, mineral waters, and – obligatory for a proper Jordanian meal – tea. Around 2 or 3 pm you will return to the shore and have some free time to spend as you choose – exploring the markets of the downtown, discovering some of Aqaba’s history, or visiting one of the beach resorts to swim and relax more.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Overnight in Aqaba.

Depart from your hotel in Aqaba and drive to Wadi Rum. Enjoy the adventure of a 4×4 jeep tour through the desert, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia and ‘the Martian’, discover ancient inscriptions, climb sand dunes and rock bridges. An unforgettable experience! Then continue to Petra, where you will spend the night.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Petra.

Today, you will visit the ancient Nabataean city of Petra, often also called the ‘Rose City’ or the ‘Lost City’, and counted as one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World. Enter through ‘the Siq’, a narrow canyon flanked by high sandstone walls. The first monument that comes into sight is the magnificent ‘Treasury’, guarding the entrance to the city. Continue then to explore many more caves and tombs, a Roman theater, Qasr al-Bint and other structures.

In the evening you will be transferred to the Dead Sea – because of it’s location 400m below sea level already a very special place. It becomes all the more interesting through the extremely high salinity of the water, which on one hand kills all potential marine life (hence Dead Sea). On the other hand, it is great for the skin, and – more importantly – allows you to float on the water surface without any effort.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight at the Dead Sea.

Enjoy the breakfast at your hotel. After that it’s time to float, swim, relax by the pool, and experience the various treatments in the spa. In the later afternoon, we will transfer you to Jordan’s capital Amman.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Amman.

Start with a tour of downtown Amman, exploring the city’s most popular archaeological sites such as the Citadel and the Roman Theatre. Take some time to stroll through the old, bustling markets, view the renown al-Husseini Mosque and stop at a local restaurant to sample authentic Hummus and Falafel. Afterwards visit one of Amman’s oldest neighborhoods, such as Jabal al-Weibdeh or Jabal Amman. There, you can pass by several art galleries, museums, local antiquities and handcraft shops. In the evening we will introduce you to another side of Jordan by setting up a wine tasting session.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Amman.

Pick up from Amman and drive to the Christian town of Madaba. It is famous for its exquisite 6th-century mosaics such as the ‘Madaba Map’ – the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Lands.

Head to Mount Nebo, the very place where according to Christian tradition Moses looked across to the Promised Land, and later died and was buried. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Dead Sea area and the mountains of the Judean Desert.

Then drive on to visit ancient crusader castle in Karak. Exploring its maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways is fun for young and old, and will provide an impressive insight into the architectural and military skills of the Crusaders. In the late afternoon, you will then continue further South to Aqaba, where you will spend your last night in Jordan.
