Itinerary

Arrive at Amman Airport, where we will meet you, assist with immigration and then transfer to your hotel in Amman. Amman is one of the oldest cities in the world, inhabited since the bronze age. The city is growing into a modern city, but retains its character and history.

Depending on your flight arrival time, you may have free time to explore on your own.

Overnight in Amman.

After breakfast, we will pick you up at 8 AM from hotel’s lobby. From there we will have a 1.5 hour drive, including sections on the ancient King’s Highway to the start point of the hike, near Madaba.

The dramatic Wadi Hidan canyon includes some beautiful wild mountain scenery, and a surprising amount of vegetation and water. A beautiful black basaltic canyon filled with narrow gorges, surprising amount of vegetation and fresh natural pools. There are some tricky rock steps which require the use of hands and feet, and expect to get completely wet (head to toe – you will need dry bags for anyone personal items). Please note you will need to swim in parts, so please wear shoes and clothes you are happy to get wet in, we recommend tough trainers. Hiking Distance 5Km.

Kindly note Wadi Hidan hike is weather permitting. Otherwise it will be replaced with an alternative similar hike.

After exploring the wadi we will continue on to the Dana Nature Reserve, for an evening to relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Time permitting, upon arrival your guide will take you for short sunset tour around the village.

Overnight in Dana.

A short transfer out of Dana and on to visit Shobak Castle, the first of the series of Crusader Castles built in Jordan; which was constructed by Baldwin I in 1115 and only surrendered in 1189 to the Great Salahdin. From Shobak and then we cycle off-road on a mixture of dirt tracks and roads to Little Petra. This stage of Jordan Bike Trail is stated as one of the most epic ones. The route contours around the mountains of Dana and Petra with great views across the Jordan valley. Lunch boxes to be served on our way by a local family from Petra. Finish the ride with a visit to Little Petra. Then cycle to your overnight camp hidden in the rocks and enjoy the hospitality of the Bedouins.

Overnight in Little Petra

After breakfast, you will leave Little Petra and head to the red rose city Petra. Enter the city through 1 Km long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks, then continue to the stunning Treasury carved into the sandstone rock. Proceed to explore this amazing world heritage site. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, Treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets.

Lunch will be provided at local restaurant inside the site.

Overnight in Petra.

After breakfast, take a short transfer to just past the small town of Rajif at the top of the large hill after Petra. Today’s ride is a long descent off-road towards Wadi Rum. Lunch will be served by local Bedouin family on our way.
Upon arrival your guide will take you for a 2-Hour sunset jeep tour through the desert. Enjoy the hospitality of the bedouins and sleep under the stars in Wadi Rum.

Overnight at Wadi Rum Camp.

Today we go on a hike to the highest peak in Jordan. Jabal Umm ad Dami (1854m) is 35km south-east from Wadi Rum Village on the border with Saudi Arabia. Jabal Umm ad-Dami is a moderate hike/scramble from the foot of the mountain, about 2-3 hour to the top. There are stunning desert views from this mountain! We then continue to explore more of Wadi Rum on a jeep safari. Hiking Distance 5Km, Ascent 500m, Decent 500m

From the desert we head to the south, to the Gulf of Aqaba overlooking the Red Sea.

Overnight in Aqaba.

After waking up to the sunrise and a simple breakfast in the desert, you’ll head to Aqaba, Jordan’s only port with access to the Red Sea. Enjoy a boat ride on a glass bottom boat, enjoying views of the coral, and also views across Jordan, Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Time to swim and snorkel from the boat, over coral and view the fantastic range of tropical fish. Lunch included on the boat. You will then head north, on the Dead Sea highway for overnight at the resorts on the shore of the Dead Sea.
