The Jordan Bike Trail is a 650-kilometer scenic route that spans the length of Jordan, from the northern hills of Umm Qais to the southern tip of Aqaba. This epic trail takes cyclists on a thrilling journey through Jordan’s diverse landscapes, from rolling hills and fertile valleys to rugged deserts and majestic canyons. Riders pass through ancient cities, quaint villages, and Bedouin communities, immersing themselves in the country’s rich history, culture, and hospitality. The trail traverses iconic sites like Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea, offering breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. With varying terrain and difficulty levels, the Jordan Bike Trail caters to riders of all skills, from casual cyclists to seasoned adventurers.

Tour Highlights:
Welcome to Jordan!
Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport. Your driver will be waiting for you at the arrivals lobby to transfer you to your hotel.
Overnight in Amman.
Driving time:
QAIA to Amman – Approx. 45 minutes.
After breakfast, meet your guide and biking crew at the hotel’s lobby. Head north to walk through the history of Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East.
Later on drive to Anjara for the first biking day of the tour.
Today’s cycling route starts the edge of the town of Anjara and past the old abandoned village of Sarabees before descending to Wadi Mahmoud. Upon reaching the Wadi, trail continues through a wooded valley before heading west and starting the long descent into Wadi Zarqa and to Zarqa River. Enjoy the dirt track to yourselves as you start the long descent to Zarqa River. Along the descent, there are witness breathtaking views. In biblical times, the river was known as the Jabbok River, where Jacob wrestled with God. Upon crossing the river, take a transfer back to Amman.

Amman to Jerash – Approx. 1 hour.
Start your day with a transfer south to the city of Kerak to visit Kerak castle, an ancient Crusader Castle, where you can explore the maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways. The city of Karak was the capital of Moab and the castle dominates the skyline. The castle provides an impressive insight into the architectural and military skills of the Crusaders.
We start cycling right after the city of Kerak. This section passes through rural countryside and then races downhill along the King’s Highway passing the Tanour Dam just outside of Kerak Governorate limits. Reaching Wadi Hasa, take a transfer to Dana Nature Reserve.
Time permitting, upon reaching Dana Reserve, your guide will take you for a sunset tour around the village.

Amman to Kerak – Approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.
Wadi Hasa to Dana Reserve – Approx. 1 hour.
Start the day with a short transfer out of Dana onto visit Shobak Castle, the first of the series of Crusader Castles built in Jordan.Shobak Castle was constructed by Baldwin I in 1115 and only surrendered in 1189 to the Great Salaheddin.
Then we cycle off-road on a mixture of dirt tracks and roads to Little Petra. This stage of Jordan Bike Trail is stated as one of the most epic ones. The route contours around the mountains of Dana and Petra with great views across the Jordan valley.
Lunch boxes to be served on our way by a local family from Petra.
Finish the ride with a visit to Little Petra. Then cycle to your overnight camp hidden in the rocks and enjoy the hospitality of the Bedouins.

Dana to Shobak – Approx. 30 minutes.
After breakfast, you will leave Little Petra and head to the Red-rose city Petra. Enter the city through 1 km long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks, then continue to the stunning Treasury carved into the sandstone rock. Proceed to explore this amazing world heritage site. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, Treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets.
Lunch will be provided at local restaurant inside the site.
Overnight in Petra.
After breakfast, take a short transfer to just past the small town of Rajif at the top of the large hill after Petra. Today’s ride is a long descent off-road towards Wadi Rum. Lunch will be served by local Bedouin family on our way.
Upon arrival your guide will take you for a 2-Hour sunset Jeep tour through the desert. Enjoy the hospitality of the Bedouins and sleep under the stars in Wadi Rum.

Petra to Rajif – Approx. 30 minutes.
Cycle between the sandstone mountains on the desert sands all the way through the largest Wadi in Jordan until turning onto the Desert Highway for the final descent to the Red Sea. Upon arrival to Aqaba enjoy well deserved dip in the sea and spend evening on your own.
Biking crew will leave you here.

Cycling Info:
Spend morning enjoying the sea, then, at 10:30, drive to the Dead Sea to enjoy the rest of your tour relaxing, floating in the salt waters or resting by the pool. You can always pamper yourself with your chosen spa treatment.

Aqaba to Dead Sea – Approx. 4 hours.
Unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye but return home with wonderful memories.
