The Bottom Line

What an incredible tour!

I usually love hiking solo, but Experience Jordan made this trip so much fun that I never once felt like I was missing out by being in a group. They kept the group together while still giving us space to go at our own pace, which was the perfect balance.

From start to finish, everything was smooth. The hotel in Amman was fantastic and pick-up times were spot on. Our guide Mahmoud was an absolute legend. He had us laughing the whole time and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of.

The hike started off easy on day one, then gradually got harder each day, which was the perfect way to warm up. The support team was amazing. They set up our tents, transported our bags, and cooked incredible meals. They felt more like family, and walking into camp each evening to find everything set up with tea and food waiting was such a treat. The meals were delicious, and there was always plenty to go around. One of the best moments was making traditional Bedouin bread in the fire with Eid. I even got to join his wife in the kitchen and learn some local cooking techniques, which was such a special experience.

Walking into Petra was unreal. Instead of starting at the Treasury with the crowds, we arrived slowly, taking it all in along the way. Mahmoud’s stories and history lessons made every site come alive, and I loved how easy he made it to understand.

I also really appreciated how thoughtful the team was. They checked in to see if we were happy with the schedule, if we needed more breaks, or if our tents and beds were comfortable. Experience Jordan has thought of everything to make sure this trip is unforgettable.

If you are looking for a truly epic adventure, this is it. Finishing off in Wadi Rum with a bit of luxury and then floating in the Dead Sea was the perfect ending.
